Botswana's Chobe National Park is only the third largest in the country, but one of the most concentrated wildlife parks in Africa, despite its vastness of 11,700 square kilometres.

Thus, hunting was banned and the protected area was gradually expanded. It was only after a major invasion by Tse-Tse flies that Chobe was granted nature reserve status in 1960. All the people were relocated to protect the impressive ecosystem and create what is now Botswana's most visited site.
